Sorry to hear that! Hopefully it's something easily fixed - could just be a software thing...

Fingers are crossed for you! That has to suck.. :(
Thanks Sirius, I appreciate it.

While you said fudge... I said something else after it first happened... quite certain the same thing you were referencing originally.

I thought about what you said it being a software thing and looked in another thread where a guy said it has happened to him a few times and it goes away. So before I poured that drink I decided to go get back in it to see if the drivetrain error would come back on.

It didn't... so I decided to make a 10 mile run to the post office to see how it drove. Down and back it drove fine like nothing had happened. Put it back into sport mode and gave it the same amount of push I did when I attempted to pass. Tried it three times and never had a problem so maybe it is a software thing. That's what I'm hoping for anyways. I'll contact my MA about it Monday and see what he says. Maybe I won't be destined for shop purgatory after all... maybe just have to move that "Second Date" appointment up a little bit.

Might be a little gun shy though on passing for a bit. Thanks for the suggestion and I'll keep you guys posted. Below are some shots showing that the MIL light and drivetrain error went away. Vehicle status says everything is OK for now.

On an unrelated note, I tested the automatic high beam system on the way to the post office and it worked brilliantly. It switches the high/low beams faster than I can sometimes when meeting on coming traffic.

I am so jealous of all you guys that have already received their MINIs! Mine is still sitting at the port waiting to be shipped. :(

A few days out of the womb is the best time to have it slip into limp mode.
The thing is, even if it doesn't reoccur, you should take it in and have the computer read for diagnostics. It records what's happening and may be helpful in spotting a problem to be resolved prior to it making trouble for you later...

Did they fix the oil filter housing issue with the 2015's?

This.

It most likely stored the fault code and your Service Advisor can probably shed some light on what happened. A couple 2014 MINIs I saw had similar symptoms and it turned out to be an ECU fault that was causing a misfire, triggering "limp home" mode. Either way, if the problem isn't reoccuring, it is most likely something electrical.

Yes - sometime late last year.

My MA said it should ship this weekend, but it hasn't. I think he just pulled that info out of thin air to shut me up. 😒

Hi Im in the process of ordering my cooperS and would like to add the driver assist to my build. I was with the MA yesterday trying to find that option and could not find it on his list of options at the dealership. Could you tell me more on what I should tell my MA so he can ad it to my build. Much Thanks!

The option code is 5AS for active drivers assist.

Not one but TWO trucks showed up to the dealer today, so chances are good mine is in one of them! My MA has promised to get mine PDIed and ready as soon as they can so I maybe MAYBE might get it today!

I really hope so, because waiting has gotten so bad I'm actually having stress dreams about my car. I am LITERALLY losing sleep over this...

...anyone know a good psychiatrist? LOL

Oh dang man, yeah I hope it's on there and they get it for ya today!!! It seems likes it gets worse on the waiting towards the end of it. Even though I already got mine every so often when I need break at work to stretch my legs from being behind the desk I'll walk back to the conference room where I can see it through the windows and just stare at it for a sec. LOL.

Still in the honeymoon phase I guess

I wonder if KKelly was able to get their's last Saturday?

You'll have to take a quick snap when you get it so I can check it out. I got my fingers crossed for ya it will be today.

I emailed my MA about the drive train malfunction and they are going to get it scheduled so they can take a look at it. Thanks for feedback and suggestions on it everyone. I'll post an update when I find out about it. Drove some more yesterday and to work today and it's still running like a champ though... like nothing happened so I'll keep my fingers crossed its a software/programming thing.

HAHAHAH One time I had some serious pain about it, the night before taking possession, and I hadn't secured a guaranteed trade in value so the financial anxiety was coming through in my dreams.

This time, last night, I was dreaming of road tripping in a convertible F series... which is neither available nor my selection.

So apparently, out of the THREE trucks that came in today, my car was not to be found on any of them... go figure...

My MA says it should be here tomorrow for sure...one more day...

On the up side, they got my car appraised so I at least got that bit sorted. Of course, not as much as I'd hoped, but I can work with it.

Yeah, now that you mention it I do think that's right because Active Driving Assistant requires Fully Loaded Package and I don't think you can configure Fully Loaded with the JCW Exterior Package.

Why... I have no idea on that cause I remember I tried adding the JCW exterior when I was playing around in the configurator and it wouldn't let me without removing Fully Loaded so I kept fully loaded. Maybe the JCW designed front bumper limits the sensors positions due to the revised design... I dunno though just a wild guess.

Your build is pretty awesome though that you posted and I think you'll be pleased with the JCW exterior package. It looks fantastic.

Looking at the back of mine* it's definitely the sensors. I ran into that when trying to spec the exterior package with aero.

*not quite. Have the key, not the paperwork. Ha

Excellent. Make sure your MA is crystal clear about not drilling the bumper if that's your preference. Mine wasn't. Not a big deal but still!

I'm probably out of luck until my MA gets back from Vacation next week.

My dealer doesn't put on the front bracket at all until the plates come, then you can make the call whether you want them on or not.

Thanks! Should be able to go pick it up tomorrow.

You would think they would let someone else deliver the car for them...

Thanks! The shipping stickers block the roof, which is also black. I plan on dechroming and tinting in the next few weeks. The wheels don't have the caps on yet either which have a cool red trim which makes them pop a little more too.

SO EXCITED!
