F55/F56 paint sealant
paint sealant
Anyone applied these products to their new MINI vs old fashioned wax? It sounds like a great idea... I am just curious to hear a real user talk about their experience vs marketing pitches...
Generally considered to be the modern day version of selling undercoating....
The usual recommendation is if you want it, take it to a detailer, and have it applied....be about 30-50% of the dealer cost.
Reality is...most folks lease their cars or sell them in 2-3 years...so "investing" $$ to make it look good for the next guy might not make sense...life span of the sealants are usually about HALF of what is claimed....maybe even less if you wash you car lots...
Overall, I think keeping paint looking good is more about ongoing care, than about a special coating applied when new....buts that's just me.

I don't have any experience about those permanent sealers so the ones I'm talking about are the usual off the shelf product.
I was going to apply NuFinish since I've been using it with no problems, but then I read is a higher quality synthetic sealant and wasn't that expensive, so I put that on as soon as I got delivery yesterday. First I had to use quick detailer to get rid of some goo that were still present, but the car surface was silky smooth as it should be.
After that, today I put everywhere. It's also a synthetic and it's simple to use. So I think I have two layers and I'm ready for winter. I got the Armorall from Target on clearance for less than $5. It really repells water like Rain-X for car body.
