I have two ELM units. They are great. I will likely be running one for other data. What I want/need is indication of the speed limit for the road I am on.

Does HERE display the speed limit info? I downloaded it and could not find a way to display that info. Thanks

jaschaeur, I want the same thing.

Here's an iOS product which may fit the bill:

NEVERMIND. You have to set the limit manually. :(

I think your MA gave you bad advice, the speed limit indication is available in the US, but you have to include lots of options. See Becky's posts.

Yes, it displays speed limit. Go to Drive mode, and you should see the screen in the attached screen capture.

And a screenshot of the speed warning setting menu.

You are correct my friend, and as I was used to getting it with top of the line Nav didn't research as hard as I should have... A lot of money was left on the table though as I would have bought adaptive cruise control.

Interesting, I never got to that screen in set up. I am off to download again. FWIW Trapster uses HERE for its maps also but relies on user input for speed limits. and the end up being a mixed bag. I will try HERE over the common routes and see how it does but it sure beats using a separate GPS next to my Nav Pro... Thanks!

Hey Folks -

New poster - Long time stalker. Just an update to this thread. I ordered my F55 on Nov 7 2014. After reading this posting I called my MA on Nov 8 and asked about the Driver Assist Package. MY MA didn't know what I was talking about and said that it was only available on BMW vehicles.

Then on Nov 10 my MA called me and said that he had just received a demo of the DA from corporate and that it is available as an "in-and-out burger style off menu item." He said he didn't know the cost but would call the next day to see if he could add it to the build.

So on Nov 11 he called back and said that my vehicle had started production and it was too late to add, but if I wanted it they could have it installed at the VPC for $1000 because I had all the other required packages, (Fully Loaded, Parking Assist, and Heads-up display).

I hope that helps others that are thinking about adding the feature.

Cheers.

So let me get this straight: if you have the NAV, the HUD, and some other options it will cost you a mere $1000 more to be able to see what the speed limit is on your NAV screen? <hears thundering herd of people trying to order this option>

I've used Motion X Drive GPS app on my iPhone with satisfaction. It displays the speed limit and vehicle speed simultaneously. Exceeding the limit will display in yellow numbers up to 5 MPH over, then displays in red. Navigation is adaptive and easy to read.
