By mini motoring event do you mean the performance motoring school at Indianapolis.? I am going end oct October. Was it as good as you thought it would be? I am so looking forward to it. Me and my 73 year old dad are doing it together.

No it was just mini test drive and comparison event. They've got one scheduled for mid October in New York as well.

Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who replied to my post!

HP79 (or anyone else who may know)- which classes do they accept for the $500 drivers ed discount? I want to make sure I register before the 30th so that I can use the discount code.

We ordered my new Mini Cooper hardtop today and couldn't be happier. Global Imports Mini in Altanta GA was great for the test drive but got VERY ugly very quickly when we tried to negotiate anything at all. Kennesaw Mini in Kennesaw GA was a completely different experience. The test drive wasn't as fun but they were very willing to negotiate and work with us. They ended up being able to give us $1,500 off MSRP on the 2015 hardtop base that we ordered (they couldn't find any 2014s remotely close to what we wanted on any lots in the US). They discounted the car $750 right off the bat, then I got $250 off for being a recent college grad, and the $500 credit for the driver's ed course. The college grad credit is supposed to be $500 off if you've graduated in the past 12 months - I graduated 16 months ago but couldn't buy when I wanted to due to being stuck in a lemon so they agreed to give us $250 off. There is also a costco member discount being negotiated but it isn't finialized for the 2015 model year and can't be combined with any other offers.

Wow, that's such a good deal!

I don't think which course matters, as long as there's your name in the driversed.com completion paper work. I just took the Adults course, and I don't really know if there are any other courses.

Awesome! Thanks for your help! The adult course says it'll lower my car insurance too - that's great!

That depends on the state and insurance company. I'm in Oregon with Progressive, but they told me nobody in Oregon does discounts for driversed completion.

I wish I got more discount. On my Mazda CX-5, I got $2000 off MSRP through Costco auto program (no hassle for real) and was expecting similar with MINI. MINI Portland told me people pay MSRP and there's very little for negotiation, but that's probably BS too. I guess having only one MINI dealer in Oregon is a disadvantage.

Ok thanks for the heads up - I'll have to check and see if my insurance will give me a discount or not.

I've also heard that there is a discount for having USAA auto insurance. I don't know how much it is but it can't be combined with any other offers. I wasn't eligible since I have allstate, but if anyone else reading this is trying to negotiate it may be something to keep in mind.
