What did your local dealership say when you called them?

Check Motoringfile: "MINI is planning to debut the 2015 JCW on the internet in December of 2014. This means we should see a production debut at the 2015 Detroit Autoshow in early January of 2015. Production should start in March of 2015 with the first cars hitting dealers in April throughout Europe and May in the US." Looks to be 230 HP engine, no fog lights but with cooling ducts instead, and another radiator under the hood (a second one). There's pix there of the body. The body kit will be available this year as an option on the F56. Personally I like by body kit better but it still looks pretty good. The F56 JCW should be a badass car. It's already a badass car.

According to MF, it will be a 2016 model. Not a 2015.

The dealer fit JCW Tuning Kit is supposed to add 19 horsepower and 14 lb-ft of torque.

If that turns out to be the real numbers they don't seem to me to be all that Strong.

I think it will be another wait and see once it actually is a fact.

If that is true, assuming about the same price as the R56 tuning kit, that is crazy high. No way would I spend close to $2500.00 for an additional 19hp and 14 lb-ft of torque. Warranty or not. The Burger Performance tuner adds an additional 30whp and 40wtq for $379.00.

The gains are about the same as for the R56 tuning kit.

The JCW Tuning Kit will also include the bi-modal exhaust ... not sure about an upgraded intake.

JCW badging is expensive

Well, I'm not under any circumstances going (After-Market) and loosing the Factory Warranty !!!

But I'm also not going to spend $2,500.00 dollars for that little increase in HP & TRQ.

I hope that there will be additional options from MINI for us that have the 2014 MCS.

When the JCW Tuning Kit for the R53 (+36 HP and +22 LB-FT) first came out the price was $4,500 plus 10 hours labor to install, so you were in for at least $6,000 to keep your warranty.

You know your probably right.

Since it is my wife's MCS I'll more than likely leave well enough alone.

Sometimes one just has to know when to STOP !!!

I'm thinking this is going to turn into one of those times.

Yeah, expensive is an understatement. LOL. If this expensive kit also includes an exhaust system and yields a miserly 19hp then that makes it an even worse deal. I guess we'll have to wait and see what the kit actually contains and what its actual power increase will be. I honestly can't see many going for it unless it is netting at least 40rwhp/30rwtq. That's just too expensive when there will be other much less expensive options. The aftermarket is a lucrative industry for a reason.

Anyone got any more information on the upcoming factory JCW? This information is over three months old and, I believe that there should be more out there. Shucks, the VW R series has had more leaks than the new JCW. Yes, we supposedly know what it will look like, or do we?

Not sure what the "rw" in your power figures means but ...

The JCW engine is rumored to be the same as that in the BMW 2 Active Tourer (225i) which is rated at 170 kW (228 hp) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft). There's no way BMW will offer a JCW Tuning Kit that will bring the Cooper S engine to those levels.

Well guys I think this is going to turn out to be one of those (Wait & See) sort of things on and if there will be a JCW Performance Up-Grade for the 2014 MCS.

Unless we see something in writing from MINI I think honestly it is just opinions.

What I was told

I was told by mini when I hit them up on Twitter to ask my MA. So when I made it back to the states from Europe I asked and they told me a year and that was at the beginning of October. Waiting to buy till the JCW is released as well as I hate to say it using all you fine folks as lab rats for the release of the new model.

The info about the JCW Tuning Kit for the F56 has been on the internet since August.

The facts are:

211 hp
300 NM

Confirmed by a leaked internal communication from MINI in Germany.

I posted on here about it at the time

The problem is a lack of legit release date.

Target release date is October of 2015 as a 2016 model but as we know Mini does not always hit the target so it may be later than October if there are any snags. This is as current as it gets but its still a long way off so who knows. My MA actually called the guy in charge and this is what he was told.

I just bought a 2015 S and will be adding the Berger tune and pocketing the money lol.
