The other day I got out of my MCS to move a sprinkler before I parked (didn't want water stains!). I left the car running and went about shutting off the sprinkler and coiling up the hose. The car remained running, but as I was walking back to it I wondered how far I could walk away from the running car with the fob in my pocket. I probably was 30 or 40 feet away and it never quit running. Any ideas how far or once started does it just run until it is shut off??

I don't think it will turn off.

When the battery runs out, or there is radio interference, you can start the car by putting the fob near a spot on the steering column.

If the car experienced radio interference on the highway, or the battery in the fob quit while you were driving, you woudn't want the car to stop.

Depends...if auto stop/start is engaged, and the engine is shut down from that and I step out of the car with the key, it turns itself all the way off and I have to restart the engine with the ignition toggle...Manual transmission.

As for just straight running, and no key anywhere inside or near the vehicle...I dont know, I would assume it would keep running.

I have a manual transmission. I may have had the AC on, so the start/stop didn't kick in. Obviously, the car was in neutral with my foot off the clutch. I will try this again without the AC on, just to confirm that it will require the toggle instead of just depressing the clutch for a restart.

It will keep running until you shut it off. If the key is out of range, a warning light will appear in the instrument display warning you of that, but the vehicle will never disable itself because the key is out of range.

For example, if the vehicle is running and you pull up to the valet and get out with the key in your pocket, the valet can jump in and drive away. Once the vehicle is shut off, however, it cannot be restarted without the key present.
