Hello all. The new MINI is growing on me so I decided to learn a bit more about it.

What is the cruising rpm in the manual Cooper S? One thing that I dislike about my manual R56 S is the very high cruising rpm (3k rpm @ 73mph).

 

Not the car you are asking for but for others who might be interested to know,
1.5L auto. I usually set cruise control at 65 mph and is 2.1K-2.2K rpm.

So they fitted longer 6th gear in the auto again... Same speed, same tire, the auto would be 1940rpm vs 2240rpm in the manual. MINI did this in R56 as well...

 

The automatic S has the same gear ratios as the automatic 3-cylinder, except for the final drive, but the manual transmissions are more different.

 

I was at 75 in my F56 MCS in 6th gear and at ~2800 RPM.
