While test driving a '14 F56S, I really liked the steering. I have never driven a R53S, but have owned 2 R56S'. What do you guys think? My impression is that steering feel is improved.
I haven't owned a MINI in a while, but I remember always liking the feel of steering on a MINI. The automatic transmission, on the other hand was a dog before. That, I remember.

Compared to an R53, it's terrible, but that's how it is at the moment. All cars now come with electric power steering, which do not compare with the old hydraulic systems for road feel and feedback. All of the new steering systems feel like a video game to me.
Having said that, the F56 does have better electric steering than anything else I've test driven, including Audis, Fiestas, and Mazdas. Haven't tried the 2014 Porsches, a little out of my price range unfortunately!
