Justa resonator delete?

Anybody deleted the resonator on the b38 yet? That's usually my go to and $40 well spent...

Hey thanks! It looks like you actually deleted the rear muffler ya? I'm actually looking for the resonator right after the cat... Although that does sound pretty good. Do you get much drone and is it obnoxious on cold starts?

Not my car , it belongs to cmt52663, he is a big time autocross racer. He makes mini's go real fast.

Does deleting the resonator void the warranty?

I think you will be fine warranty wise, but some dealers might try and be dicks about it, usually just doing cat back modifications is not a big deal at all

I deleted the resonator in my R55, but haven't found it in the F56. Anyone have any wisdom to share going about this?

Finally deleted the resonator. Waste of money, I wouldn't bother doing this if anyone else has considered it. Made little to no difference in sound. A real Shame because usually it sounds pretty good...

Now that raises a question, when all manufactureres are trying to save every nickel and dime in their manufacturing cost especailly these days, why BMW/MINI engineers decided to install the resonator if the exhaust sould level is not so much different whether there is one or not. It's not like an EPA required item on cars like a catalytic converter, or is it?
Hmmm...

Have you driven on the highway 70-80 mph at any length since the removal?

THAT will be the real acid test.

By far the loudest thing on my car is the OEM run-flat tires.

Little to no drone on the freeway at 70-80mph. Maybe the car is just sound dampened really well...

Mufflers are not required. I know the old Neon SRT-4 didn't have one and I don't believe the Fiat Abarths have one either. Having a turbo really quiets the exhaust down. I bet the resonator is only there to give the exhaust a nicer tone but not necessarily quieter.
