A bit off topic, but I thought it might pique the interest of some members. My wife and I are AFOL (Adult fans of lego), and collectors -- jargon from the Lego community

Lego is releasing a Classic Mini Cooper commemorative set. I've already got mine pre-ordered. The MINI comes in British Racing Green with white bonnet stripes, and really looks great! My wife suggested I order a second set, and find the appropriate parts in black to match Toaster.

The set will be officially released August 1.

 

I picked one up at the Lego store in Downtown Disney Friday. It was early access for VIP members. If you are a VIP you can get it now!!

It will be included in my MOC display at Bricks by the Bay Lego convention.

 

We're VIP members, too! We pre-ordered and it has already shipped so we're excited to get it.

Also, the VW Camper van (which we completed yesterday) is also a masterpiece

I'd love to see your MOCs, by the way. Glad to know there are other AFOLs here.

 

Thanks for the heads up! Got mine on the way. Almost as excited about this Mini as I was my F56. Probably the only classic I'll ever be able to own. :P

 

Bit by the Lego bug way back when I was about 7 years old.....AFOL to the extent that I "escaped" from the office for an hour "appointment" to drive the MINI to buy the Lego MINI when the store opened at 10:00 Friday morning.

Perhaps I need some meds for Lego and MINI addictions.....
