plastidip vs flexidip

The past few years ive been using plastidip and have always had an issue with the finish. Its very hard to get a smooth paint like appearance without a slight granularity texture. I just came across rustoleums version of plastidip. Long story short, it is way easier to work with. The spray is lighter, making it harder to cover surface area on coating, but dry time is cut in half and the final finish is flawless. If a job took 4 coats to cover with plastidip, it will take 6 with flexidip. Im thinking the plastic/paint mix may have more thinner in composition compared to plastidip because it sprays with more consistency, very similar to spray paint. Definitely recommend rustoleums flexidip for accenting and such..

How does it hold up compared to Plasti-dip. I too always re-do my trims due to bugs sticking and all. But never really had issues with peeling and or chipping.

The flexi-dip sounds like its worth looking into.

I tried plasti dip for the first time last weekend, I find that it peels off too easily. Be interested to see how that stuff holds up, Where is it sold?

Wow that is pretty smooth, how do you get the headlight rings to come out soo good without removing them? I tried and the edges looked terrible once I peeled the tape off.

Ive been on the fence about this whole plastdip thing for awhile now. I have a car painter background, my dad was a painter and I became one too, my afsc in the airforce was car painting, upholstery/ fabrication. I cant get over the fish eye texture of the plastdip, I dig the peel off option of it, but cant bring myself to spray it on my F56 knowing it wont be smooth...

You can always mess around with the flexidip. The finish is very smooth. Im going to order the pepper white paint, buy my self a spray gun and paint my flares and side skirts to body match. I plan on peeling off all the dip when this time comes to body match all the chrome too

Ive thought of thinning it with reducer and spraying it through my gun, but I wonder if it would retain its 'peelability'?
