Mini connected+visual boost can you see GPS directions from iphone?
With the Mini connected+visual boost only no GPS , can you see GPS directions sent from iPhone? My MA says yes but I'm not so sure. Does anyone know. I like the cool screen but if your not getting the factory GPS it seems to not do much for a $500 option.
I know Mini Connected App used to allow sending Google directions from the phone to the car... but it stopped working in the most recent update of Mini Connected. Not sure if other apps still work?
I'll also point out that getting the Media Package (which gives Mini Connected 6.5'' + Visual Boost, Enhanced BlueTooth and Armrest for $750), its another $750 to add Navigation, not $500. So $1500 total. But the Wired Package is $1750 and gives you Mini Connected XL 8.8'' + Visual Boots, Navigation XL, Real Time Traffic, Enhanced Bluetooth and Center Armret. So $250 more for the bigger screen and traffic on your nav as well.
And... to further complicate things, depending when you order, if you get a Model Year 2015 build, adding either the Media Package or the Wired Package will also require that you get the Rear-View Camera + PDC. (source: http://www.motoringfile.com/2014/05/...cing-released/ ) That is $1000 as a stand alone option, or part of the Wired Upgrade package which for $1600 adds RearView Cam, PDC, HUD and Rain Sensor&Auto Lights.
Just throwing all the info at you, as depending if you're ordering or not, that Media Package might get a lot more expensive, or if you're buying off the lot, looking for one with a Wired Package is a bit more money for a bigger screen and better navigation than adding Nav to the Media Package.

Yeah, you basically get screwed now if you want Connected or the premium package. This was the final blow for me to not consider the Gen. 3 anymore and continue looking for a 2013 or buy out my 2011. Hopefully they will get their crap together with Gen. 4 or this will sadly be my last MINI :(
Let's be clear about this. Google Send To Car only sends the destination to the car (no directions). The car's navigation system calculates the directions to the destination.
Ah, thanks! Never used the feature, only saw people referencing that it no longer worked.
