[QUOTE=aafflyer;3939772]
Reading all of this, I stopped by today after work to look at cars and make sure I had options and selections the way I wanted. I asked MA about issues with H/K causing delays -- was told "that's old news, i.e. an issue last month, we're beyond that", Asked why my order was delayed to 6/2, told it was because of black roof. Asked if MY2015 orders start in July, was told "the cars just came out, MY2015 for F56 MC and MCS won't be until Nov at the earliest".

Well, given that that's the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of what I was told when my order was attempted to be placed on May 28th, I'm both suspicious and nervous!

My MA seriously believes (although whether she's right or not, is another matter), that NOBODY can get the H/K at the moment, and that MINI is searching for a new supplier of some required component. She's convinced that all attempts to order H/K will be denied.

Yea... folks who have been getting it have said their MAs submitted the orders without the H/K, and then had a district manager or someone override/modify the orders later to add the H/K and it all worked out. You should direct her over to these forums

That's what mine did. Ordered around 5/7.

I ordered a contrasting Roof and HK build on 4/12. It was just unloaded from the vessel an hour ago in the US. Only a week or 2 to go meaning almost exactly 8 weeks.

I know I gave you this link when you had your 'time sensitive' post a few days ago, but I'll drop the link here again: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d-package.html

I think the reason for the silly games is... your MA is correct. Mini is not taking orders with H/K sound on them, because supplies are very limited. However, limited does not mean non-existent, as clearly demonstrated on these forums as people are taking delivery of them each day with the sound system. So the regional managers have leeway to add it to a few existing orders, but the system won't accept them at first just to keep the total number of orders down and encourage people to go without. You've got to convince your MA that you should be one of those special few that gets it added =)

This is true. A regional rep must approve the H/K order for the dealer. It is restricted availability at the moment.

Not true. MY 2015 vehicles go into production July or August. All vehicles produced in June are 2014 MY.

Unless things have changed, dealers get allocations for a particular build month around 5 weeks in advance. Each allocation is for a particular build week. So it really depends on the build week associated with the allocation the dealer is using to fill the order. Even an allocation for a June build could get delayed pushing it to the next model year.

Right now I am slated for a Week 26 build, which is very close to the end of June. I don't really care if it's a 2014 or a 2015 (if it got pushed back). Actually having the 2015 might be beneficial down the road at trade in or sale time.

Each dealership actually gets an allotment of cars with HK in them -- check it out, you may be able to get it after all!

Same deal with contrasting roofs.

Not if they say you now owe an additional $1500+ depending on the options you picked. That's the issue with MY2015...

I'm in Canada and was ready to confirm an order for a 2014 model last week. Four days ago, my dealer offered me to buy a 2015 model for the same price. I will get the car a month later (end of August).

The difference is that I can add the Driver Assistant Package for the 2015 version (CA$1000); it was not possible in the 2014 model.

I got it!

I really hate this BMW crap where they require you to buy a bunch of other options you don't want just to get the one you do want. It drives up the ridiculous price even more. They're almost as bad as Porsche nowadays (try building one online if you don't know what I mean, $185 to have color crests in the wheels, yea right). I could build the car I want for $25k if I didn't need to get a whole load of other crap just to get the HUD or XL screen

Exactly. Like I said before, the days of a really well-equipped MINI in the low 20's is over :(
