Thanks Touchup. I think you just drill a hole. Makes sense because the button has a flange. There is only one part number for that piece.
BTW what is the icon of the key for - also on mine. Is there a key slot somewhere I am not aware of?

The icon is for when your batteries in your key fob die. Supposedly you can hold your key fob up to that point and be able to start the car regardless of battery life.

Yeah I would imagine that's the case. But it does seem odd that BMW would have you to drill a hole. But if there's not two part numbers then it must be so.

Don't know for certain but a lot of times the hole can be "popped out" as the plastic is already made thinner around the perimeter on the inside surface. Just give it a push and out it comes ready for the switch.

Thanks guys. It will be apparent once I have pulled it all apart. Also one would assume that there will be some instructions. The order was delayed anyway the JCW wheels are taking longer than excepted. Will post a whole how to tread when I do it.

The problem on the R56 was getting through the firewall. Maybe it will be easier on the F56. I hard wired mine to a hot point in the fuse box under the hood. They come on when ever I hit the high beam, which is when I want them anyway. Just throwing this out as another option.
