I stopped by the dealer today and noticed on a car that was just delivered that it said 'Premium Package 2' but that is not on the on-line configurator.

Now if you look on dealer inventories of new cars some now have the Premium Package 2 with the following description...

"PREMIUM PACKAGE 2 -inc: Rain Sensor & Auto Headlights, Automatic Climate Control, Panoramic Moonroof (DISC) NO LONGER AVAILABLE for factory ordering as of May 1, 2014. *No Longer Factory Orderable, See Dealer for Current Availability* (ZP2)"

Not trying to panic anyone, but it says the Panoramic Moonroof is no longer available after 1 May. I have no idea what this means... if it means only for some period of time or not for the rest of MY14? Will it be back in MY15? And what moon roof is there then? We don't need the Panoramic Moonroof, maybe the package will be cheaper?

On this same car I saw the Head Up Display but no navigation system, only the Media Package. The Wired package used to be required for the HUD.

Is this normal for Mini to change these packages so frequently? Or is this due to the car being so new? The on-line website has not yet caught up.

 

Well this says PP2 but it also says Panoramic Moonroof. I'm confused about the Moonroof comment.

 

So maybe this is how they solved the HK problem, they just take it back out of the Premium Package. Hopefully there are two Premium Packages now because we do want the HK and I'd guess it is cheaper in the PP than al cart.

 

Pp2 is the premium package without Harmon kardon sound.

It was a short term package due to limited availability of the HK. It will not show up in the configurator and is no longer available after a certain date.

 

I think they might be saying cd disc changer is not available? Confusing ,but cant see roof not being part of pkg.

so this explains why my order with HK went through back in March while others were facing major delays.. because i ordered it with the fully loaded package and that takes priority.

 

True, but some dealers aren't even taking fully loaded orders right now.

 

I tried to order an F56 with the fully loaded package last week and wasn't able to. The fully loaded package isn't an order-able option.

Really? But the configurator on MINI-USA.com has it.

 

The code is basically blocked in their system until the HK issues are over. Some dealers may be able to find workarounds....

 

I have the premium 2 package and everyone is correct. It is the premium package minus the HK option. It was cheaper and I do not need a fancy radio anyway.
