15" or 16" good for winter. Or if you have a F56 Cooper ( NON S ) you can get factory steelies for winter.

FWIW, smaller wheels & tires generally weigh less and will provide better overall handling. Unsprung weigh is a performance drain. If you can find a nice looking 16 that weighs less grab them. I swapped out my 17 Tentacles for 17 Enkei RPf1 and Condi Extreme DW's and shaved 32 lbs of unsprung weight (8lbs off each corner) - which equated to a 10WHP and 11 wheel torque gain.
