F55/F56 Mini Safety Camera
Mini Safety Camera
Looking to get a dashcam for the Mini, and it occurred to me that if the Mini safety camera can read speed limits, I am guessing it could pass as a decent dash camera as well. You would think adding an SD card to the unit and allowing it to record video would be a no brainer. Or at least add a USB port in the roof or rear view mirror to accommodate for electronics without ugly wires hanging down the front of the car.
What??? This is news to me!!!
The us Configurator does not have the "Drivers assist package" which includes things like
Road sign monitors
Auto high beams
Adaptive cruise control
It's a major bummer.

This whole situation with the hardware being placed in the US Minis but not activated is quite interesting. I have a 2013 328i, which I've coded extensively, but since I don't have the actual camera for reading signage information, I can't just code that feature. For Mini, I would think that this functionality could be activated via the coding software :-)
