Vin Decoder

Just for fun - for those that have their vin number. (for any BMW from 1928)

Interesting enough mine has "outer skin protection". Anyone know what this is? Maybe paint!

I found this: The S9AAA Aussenhautschutz is that white(or blue) plastic that BMW(and other car makers) put on the outside of the car - to protect it during the shipping process. It is removed during the PDI process.

@GregoryK
You do know the VIN Decoder is listed to the left of every NAM page almost?
And it's been posted into almost every GEN thread before the 2014.
Just passing this along.
Even as I type this, it's showing to the left in my screen....

But then maybe some don't look around the NAM site to see the sights!

Oh...and for some reason when I see your Sig Pic I smile.......seems I know that face but can't place it.

Bubba. Just checked the NAM decoder. It seems pretty non specific compared to the one I posted. Try typing in your vin to both.

You only need the last 7 digits of VIN for the BMW decoder and it lists the exact equipment and options on your MINI

Last 7 digits don't work for my old 1973 BMW 2002tii as it comes back a 1988 735I

Sorry GregoryK, haven't used it in a while, maybe 6 months.
I also didn't use yours at all.
I'll check later when I can get to my VIN.
As always, my fingers type faster than the brain sometimes.
But, I have used the NANM one before.

Better Mouse Trap ?!!!!!!

Ah yes, Michael Cane, Just couldn't for the life of me place it....Thanks.
