Finally had some good news from the dealer today - the car is due with them week commencing 19th May - so slightly ahead of the original estimated delivery date.

Cant wait now!!!

Mike @ Wheelbase sent me a picture of the wheels today - really helpful guy and they have been very good to deal with!

Just a shame the Bank Holiday weekend means it will be next week before I get them!

I think they look even better here than in the renders I posted earlier!

Took delivery of these beauties today

Really happy with them, but they use radius seat bolts and it looks like NOBODY makes M14x1.25 radius seat bolts!!!!

So Wheelbase have sent me a set of Bimmec bolts which are using some kind an adapter washer to convert the 60 deg taper head into a radius seat head. They are the ones with the black band on the left in the photo below:

Ideally though, I would like to find some tuner bolts in the correct M14x1.25 radius seat fitment - but somehow I think its going to be impossible!! Would it be OK to just buy some regular 60 degree tuner bolts e.g these and swap the washer over from the supplied bolts?

I've been on holiday this week, but just got back and I had a call from the painter to tell me the trim pieces had been done & were ready to collect. Naturally, collecting them could not wait - so here they are…

Thunder Grey is an incredibly difficult paint to photograph correctly - the sun was shining when I collected them and the colour really pops in the sun with a lovely metallic flake to it. However, as soon as its slightly overcast, or in artificial light, it looks dull grey & almost black!!

The car is due on the 26th by the looks of things, so fingers crossed it will be sat on my drive very soon!!!

I'm going mad waiting for the thing! :(

I'm wanting to paint mine also, I heard that the grill is a total pain to replace not like the R series which took like 5 minutes. I've heard you have to take off the entire front bumper/fog light assembly. What have you heard?

I have heard the same :(

I will probably just change the headlight and taillight rings first, and wait for a how to guide for the main bumper trim.

That or sell the centre trim and get mine vinyl wrapped black instead!

I have asked my dealer to find out the costs / time / work involved for changing the front trim over, as my plan had been to get them to do it for me as part of the PDI.

Vinyl wrap is a good idea, I'm afraid if I take it part I won't get back JUST right and have a rattle or something. If you find out cost let me know an ill do the same I'm gonna call next week.

Just spoke to MINI & they have told me the car is due for build in week 20 (which they say starts next week??) - can anyone confirm the current MINI week number to verify?

If this is true - I could have the car the week commencing the 19th - totally buzzing with the news as this wait has gone on long enough now!!

Holy cow, I dig that color combo. white rims look sweet with white roof and mirrors and with the contrast of the dark body color.

Well, the car has now been built and has moved to the status: '9650: awaiting dispatch to dealer'

Fingers crossed it will be making its way up to Newcastle as I type and I can collect in the early days of next week!

Got the news today from MINI Customer Services (dealer comms have been a tad sparse) that the car is due to arrive at the dealers tomorrow (Monday)

I've sent my salesman an e-mail asking for the PDI to be done ASAP, so I can collect on Wednesday (my day off this week) fingers crossed, but I'm not sure how realistic I am being in terms of expecting to collect Wednesday?

I've never ordered a new car so not too sure on how long a PDI should take?

From my experience, a PDI only takes about an hour. It's just a matter of when it can get done. Most dealers will prioritize the PDI of a sold car. Good luck sleeping the next few days! Can't wait to see pics.

Looks so good! My Thunder Grey with white arrived Saturday and I posted a few pics of it. Love the white wheels on yours! Excellent job creating it, just missing the stripes haha

Thanks

Taking it easy so far - but it feels very tight and also surprisingly quick given it has 6 miles on the clock.

The turbo chatter in sport mode is very addictive and also very loud. I haven't heard others talk about this feature - but I'm loving it!

Hey! Great car. I noticed you have the sport suspension, which seems to be very rare. Would you mind giving a short review on it? How harsh it is, and if you did a test ride with the dynamic damping, how it compares? Would be super helpful for a lot of us I think. THANKS!
