F55/F56 What's your future "mod" list?
How does one go about getting the Evolve tune? Do you work through local tuning shops? Do you use a remote tuning device such as the SCT tuning device for Fords? And lastly, does a custom tune affect the MINI warranty?
Bob. You use your laptop and a cable that they supply. Yes it would definitely effect your warranty....but you can dinner it every time you take it in for service. I love mine...my r56 is a beast. Also you can reset error codes using the software. When I turned on the ignition with the passenger seat out when I was putting in a new amp...I just reset the code....mini wanted $100. It was like. $700.
I worked for Dealers for over 16 years and I know it would (Delete) all the Factory Warranty.
I'm totally out !!!
Way to many dollars being spent to end up with a 2014 MCS with No-Warranty.
Might be A-OK for some but not me, period.
Been there and done that in the past.

Come on Terry. Know it is your wife's car but a tune could add 40 or 50hp...If you pay for a JCW tune it is the same thing just 4 times the price! Wait for a year maybe your will feel differently!
I'll be serious here in my reply.

It's not the cost at all really.
{Aftermarket} "No-Warranty"

Four times the price to purchase it directly from my local Mini "Authorized" Dealer is A-OK with me.
I'm not taking any chance on loosing the Factory Warranty on a New 2014 MCS that is costing us $37,000.00 Plus.
I worked for Dealerships in Service reporting to the Parts & Service Directors for over 16-years.
I know for a "Fact" you change the (Electronics) to aftermarket and the odds of you keeping the original factory warranty are ... [ZERO] !!!
I'll also add this as I said above this will be a serious post.
Anyone that wishes to change/modify their 2014 Mini or MCS more power to them.
I'm not going there ........

I have No-Facts at all but I can see that Mini USA might very well offer a JCW Tuning Package for us.
If it is similar to my 2011 and purchasing the JCW from the dealer.
It was something like I think a Tune, Exhaust, CAI ..........

That is the kit I found in a Google search a bit ago. I was wondering if the 2014 kit will be any different. We'll just have to wait and see. It would be really nice to see maybe 220hp and 230tq. Like you said, a big plus is that this kit is dealer installed and doesn't void the factory warranty. I really don't want to mess with the warranty. Especially on a new model.

Terry... geez, I'm so glad that I am not as scared of a mod as you are!

However, on this internet site I might come across like that but this is my (Wife's) New 2014 MCS, not mine .........
I'm not going to bring up my (Highly-Modified) car here as a few members get all Torn-Up if we mention another Brand on this site.
But .......
Here is the Link to (My-Outrageous-Machine) if your interested in what I really do when it's mine.

Oh I should probably mention this to you.
You will need like a (Week or So) to See & Read about "My-Machine" as it has as of, Yesterday @ 11:41 PM, 7,963 Posts !!!

I am also planning to keep our future Mini stock. A tune is mighty tempting since I know first hand how much power can be made easily with a BMW DI turbo engine (I have a chipped 335).

Like I said I might do a Tune if it comes from Mini USA and "Keeps" the Factory Warranty.
I'm out if Mini does not Approve it.

T.
a tune with about 150 or 160 hp and 180ft. torque would be nice.
