F55/F56 Status of my 2014 "Blazing Red Metallic" MCS, tigerhonaker
One tip....
Dealers sell cars scheduled for specific production slots...
It is NOT FIRST COME FIRST SOLD, FIRST BUILT AND SHIPPED....
So when a slot is scheduled to begin production that has not be sold to a prebuy buyer, the Slot is then turned into a pre-speced car that will be shipped to the same dealer unsold...
So order date may not matter if your dealer has sold several cars already ahead of you vs a dealer Thst sold a slot was at the start of their production slots....

Saw a TV show about the VW Chattanooga plant that showed that they ran cars all of one color to save downtime from having to clean spray nozzles, etc. too often. If an order came in for a color that had just been completed, it would have to wait for the next cycle.
Well, at least you know why it has been stuck in "On Order". It also explains why my own order (placed 2 weeks before yours) made it through production and then other later orders were stalled. I can now see how the inventory can run short for a time, waiting on more inventory. Hopefully the H/K units will be in very soon. But at least you were able to add the rear spoiler.
The rear spoiler looks pretty Killer Buddy.

Glad we had the opportunity to add it to our build.

This the best picture I could find of the Rear Spoiler.
Not our Blazing Red Color but sure shows the Rear-Spoiler.

My F56 landed in Baltimore last night but final port is in GA so another 3 days out. Then I figure a couple days to get to the dealer. Another variable is whether/not MINI will release these cars for sale until launch...and that's in what mid April?
JohnBLZ, I had no idea it was even "a thing" to delay delivery of customer-ordered cars that have already arrived at dealers. Wouldn't owners driving around in their new F56s before an "official" launch/release be free publicity for Mini?
Depends on your port. Which dealer are you using?

My dealer told me that my MINI would likely arrive at the home port around the end of March, and then there would be a delay waiting for the EPA gives the all clear. He also said that BMW pays close attention to regs and didn't expect a long delay. I'm still expecting actual delivery to be around the second week of April. Hoping for April 11 at the latest. We'll see.
Thanks for the info CobraBob and SoCalledFriend...I'll be curious to find out if anyone who ordered their car between February and mid-March will have it delivered at the same time as everyone else! My car is Scheduled for Production, it should be Awaiting Transport by the end of the week...
If either of you hear in the future that cars have been released from the VDC to dealers, please update here.

I did get an up date from my Rep John at Mini of Nashville today.
It had the H/K reloaded on my order and also showed the rear-spoiler added.
So, at least the order is correct now.
Also I saw it had, Priority 1 Sold

Would like you to keep the updates coming after you receive the car- first impressions, build quality, issues, etc., since you will be one of the first.
I will be sure to give my (Opinions) on the New 2014 Blazing Red Metallic MCS for sure.
You don't know who I am, but if you did, you would know I tell it just like I see it.
If the 2014 MCS is just Leaps & Bounds better than out now 2011 MCS I will sure say so.
If it is not ???
I'll also say so .........
IMHO, I'm thinking it is going to honestly be like a , Daylight & Dark difference between the two.

Hi Bob ...
The wife (Cathy) was excited to see that change this morning for sure.
Rest assured I will be glad to Post what I think of it.
If it runs Better/Faster than our current 2011 MCS that will be great.
I'm actually looking forward to seeing in person those New LED Headlights and LED Fog Lights.
(At night using them)
Plus seeing how they changed the 6-Speed Auto Tranny.
