So after 3 hours of at the Mini dealership trying to build my 2014 S Hard top, I am no closer to getting my car. it kept rejecting my order. We finally built a stripped down car and added one feature at a time until we found the problem. The option causing my build to fail is roof rails. you don't see it as an option on the web site, but in their build tool, it is an option.... apparently the new cooper is getting rails to mount the racks onto much like the countryman has. Problem is its broken on Mini's ordering tool. I REALLY need this option since I do a lot of outdoor stuff. Most of the after market stuff look like crap. And since the dimensions are bigger, the old OEM rack isn't an option.


Anyone have any experience or knowledge on this subject?


My dealership has escalated the issue to whoever they escalate to, but I really wanted to get my order locked in :(

 

This is an option which is 'unavailable until further notice' due to factory restrictions.

 

Thanks for the reply....Can I ask where you got this information. you seem better informed than my dealer. Not that that seems too hard. They are VERY uninformed about the new model.

 

Not only are they very uninformed about the new model they also seemed to not really know much about the current or 2013 models..lol.. Well that has been my experience with my dealership. When I ordered my 2013 R56 they rarely could answer questions I had. And the ones they did answer they were wrong or not quite sure or correct!
