My wife’s 2018 mini Cooper S with 95,000 miles on it developed a couple of problems a few months back. there is a whistling noise that sounds like an emergency siren when accelerating accompanied by lots of white smoke when you start up the car after sitting for a while. There has been a consistent coolant leak from the oil cooler gasket for about six months however, I always keep the coolant level topped off. The car is running at the correct temperature. It’s not running hot or overheating. I do know that the white smoke is burnt coolant because I can tell by the smell. Could the whistling sound and the white smoke be the same problem? My biggest fear is it the head gasket is blown, but I’ve inspected the appearance of the oil on the coolant. There is no contamination.
