F57 EAC sensor problem

Hi all! I have a 2016 Cooper S convertible, 23K miles. The check engine light came on this week so took the car to my trusted mechanic. He said he got a code for the EAC sensor, but when he tested the sensor, it appeared to be working. He reset the engine light and said I should be fine unless the light comes back on. Then I would need to replace the radiator since the sensor is embedded in it. The check engine light came back on today, so I started doing some research. Seems this is an issue that Mini is aware of. It looks like I should be covered under CA state emissions warranty, if I am reading this correctly: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/20...65271-9999.pdf

Does anyone have any experience with this? Do I just need to take the car to a dealership to have the radiator replaced? Does the warranty cover all parts & labor? Appreciate any insight anyone can offer! I've been so pissed off about this, but have chilled out now with this new info. Haha.

The sensor is part of an extended warranty. Call your local dealer to have them confirm with your vin. The new radiator, coolant flush and labor is covered under warranty.

I called a dealership today and had a frustrating time. They claimed to know nothing about the warranty and told me I wasn't covered. Finally after more time searching in their dealer portal they found the communication from Mini. The woman acted like I found some rogue fake document on the internet. Told me I am covered if the problem turns out to be the EAC sensor. I have to pay for a $200 diagnostic first. This is why I hate dealing with a dealership. My mechanic didn't charge me anything for the diagnostic. I don't trust them at all.
