F55 - Cooper S, 5 door: Front end shaking at low speeds

Hi All,

I have a 2019 Cooper S to which I have got JCW exhaust and suspension (deal installed). Love the car. However, from the past 3 weeks, the front end of the car shakes/shivers/shakes not call it only below 15 MPH (in first gear). Everything goes away as soon as I hit 20 MPH.

I took it to the dealership, they looked it over and called it "Normal" with a comment "because of JCW suspension your ride is very stiff and which is causing the shakes on low speed. I am not buying this explanation.

Please let me know if you experience something similar and what you did?

Cheers,
Nishant

I wouldn't accept that explanation. Do you have another dealer near you to bring it to? Have you tried moving the front tires to the rear to see if it makes a difference?

Next closest dealer is an hour away. However, I was planning to rotate the tires this weekend.

How many miles on the car when suspension swapped?

There are issues with Minis when lowering, causing the inner CV buckets to tramline.
It does go away eventually.
There are a few posts here.

Search tramline, tramalining.

I don’t know about the tramlining issue; that may be your problem. While you have the tires off, check all the bolts and see if any are loose. It takes time, but if one bolt is loose, it can explain what you’re experiencing.
