Backup Camera Failure

Backup Camera Failure
Shortly after I bought my car it failed (I had a few thousand miles on it) and was replaced under warranty. The other day I put the car in reverse and it goes out again, displaying a grey striped background with a warning symbol like before (I now have around 30K miles). The dealership has already ordered a new camera for me.
I'm not really concerned now as it is still under warranty, however, I wonder if something else is going on making it fail. Backup cameras aren't exactly brand new technology. The service manager is supposed to be "researching" the problem. Maybe I'm just having crappy luck.
Just curious if anyone else is having these troubles.

I've had this problem and I found out it had to do with the trunk not being closed tight enough (I had to slam it pretty much). I don't know if it's the same for you, but try the trunk? See if the camera pops back up briefly when you shut it. After a while the issue did not present itself again.
