My new cooper S with 1500 miles is having air conditioning issues. While driving for more than 20 or so minutes, the air conditioning seems to stop cooling the air. The system continues to blow, but the interior gets extremely humid. It seems that after a few minutes of this, the air conditioning starts cooking as normal again. I've double checked that the car is not in green mode, as well as double checked the AC button didn't get pressed.

I'm going into the dealer this week to pick up my plates, and get a break in oil change, but would like to have some further info as to what might be happening.

 

Definitely sounds like a dealer issue.

 

Did you ever figure out what this issues is? I have the same issue. The AC will work for a couple of minutes then, then stop. Then after a couple of minutes start again. What did dealership find the issue was?

 

I wonder if you read your non-critical error codes (non-critical seems to mean the CEL doesn't come on), if you'll find "ZBE / 026700 - ENERGY SAVING MODE ACTIVE".
