When I was playing music through the Bluetooth in my iphone, I could scroll through songs on my steering wheel using the up and down arrows. However, once I connected my ipod to the usb port, it wont let me scroll through. Has anyone heard of this happening with ipods as opposed to Bluetooth streaming?

I use an iPod connected via usb almost exclusively and the steering wheel buttons work with it. I have the base radio, using an iPod classic.

Yeah the buttons let me skip songs but it won't let me scroll through to see if I want to play the next song or the song after that. I definitely wasn't clear when I originally wrote "scrolled"...my bad. I meant moving through to see what song I wanted to play next. I could do that with my iPhone but now if I press the arrow, it just goes to the next song instead of giving me the option to keep scrolling.
