Kudos to Pirelli

A lot of time the forums are used to btch and moan, but I'm here to say thanks for someone doing the right thing. Pirelli just issued a $223 credit against the $230 purchased of a new tire at Tire Rack. We had a road hazard "blow out" a few weeks back on our F56S with 13K miles on it. The tires are the 17" Pirelli P7 run-flats that came with the car. Never figured out what caused the problem, but there was a roughly 2" long "cut" right along the centerline of the tire width.

Thanks to NAM, I knew of the warranty and thanks to Tire Rack for working with me to navigate the situation. Now $7 for 13000 miles of use is a deal and a half in my opinion. and the tire made it the 6 miles to the nearest tire store. The only negative here was the lack of availability of a replacement throughout the southeast. Even Tire Rack only had a handful of the darn things to deal. But Pirelli stepped up to the plate and issued the credit within two days of receiving the old tire.

Nice. Do you just replace one tire in this case?
It's good to know there's warranty on the Pirelli tires.

With only about 20% of the wear I just replaced the one tire. Had it been more I would have replaced the axle pair and put them on the front.

Looks like you picked a more successful route than I. I got a screw in one tire of my F56 and also remembered the warranty. I thought to myself, "Well, the dealer must know how to get that warranty processed, they probably deal with it all of the time." Turns out that apparently nobody knows what they're doing and it's now been 2 days of holding my car hostage because they can't get it straight with Pirelli! It wouldn't surprise me if dealer incompetence is the problem, but Pirelli should be able to direct them as to what to do.

The only saving grace is I got a pretty loaded F56 for a loaner.
