The dealer recently worked on the power steering in my 2020 JCW Clubman. It now feels much heavier to steer. Is there some sort of “effort or feel adjustment” incorporated into the steering system?

There isn't a manual adjustment screw or anything like that. The steering weight is controlled by the software and usually changes based on your driving mode. If it feels heavier in Mid than it used to, the dealer might have updated the EPS firmware.

 

I wonder if there is a code setting buried in the controller that can be adjusted via one of the various coding apps? I would have to believe there would be. Has anyone here dug into those settings?
