Custom shift **** opinion

I’m going to have a custom top made for the cravenspeed automatic shift ****. I wasn’t a huge fan etching a pattern in those color options. I’m going stay monochromatic and have one it cnc’ed in 6061 instead.

I love the readability and balance of the markings on the Porsche GT3 PDK **** so I borrowed some inspiration from them. Then I figured maybe a design would be a nice alternative. My wife doesn’t give a hoot, she’d wonder what’s wrong with the stock green backlit umbrella handle of a shift ****.

Thoughts? Stay with a legible shift pattern or experiment with a design? Tolerance is +/- 0.01mm so I should be able to get some detail in there.

They are both nice bit I would go with the left pattern. I look forward to the finishwd product.

That was my original thought, but sketched up a few options. Im working to spruce up the interior and there isn’t much. Dash panels are out to paint so that’ll help

That came out clearly, I like the subtle ring you put around the exterior edge, very nice touch. They cannot do half tones so it limits some designs. Other thing is that I don’t love the textural contrast of their black cap and shift **** (your ring helps break it up), and the stainless steel option can’t be engraved by them. I’m certifiably nuts I acknowledge.

most importantly, do you like using it? Also it’s shorter than the stock shifter, is the shift boot all scrunched up as a result?

Here's some pictures of it's current (dirty) state....LOL. As far as the ring you see, that is a reflection of the light. Nothing I did. Scrunchiness? All relative, I'm OK with how it looks, but it is a dirt catcher. It is situated at it's shortest length, so needs some of the slack if you need it taller. I first had it longer, but found the best setting for me to be the shortest. As far as liking it? Mixed.... The short shifter and the **** are great ergonomically. Good feel for the size and height. It shifts far better than stock, but it will never be like the shifter on my 99 Honda Civic Si. That was the best shifter and action I've ever experienced. The Mini shifter will never shift as smoothly and easily as the Honda. Honda simply has perfected that IMO. Don't get me wrong, even with the shifting limitations, I really like the combination and it does have a solid feel to it. Just don't ever expect it to speed shift like I could on my Honda. One thing I don't like about it is the shift **** picks up the ambient temperature. So if the car sat out in the cold, it will be as cold as that. If it was hot, like it can get here in the east, the **** will be just as hot. Would I do it over? Probably not. I know the limitations of this car and am happy with what I have done to it so far, as you can see on my signature....

Ah, your a stick shift. I’m automatic. My r53 was a stick shift. I had a Hartge shift ****, perfectly weighted but like holding a snowball in the winter. That car was so much fun, clutch was garbage...power steering pump garbage, but I still miss her.

Now I need a free hand to manage the kids in the back and a trunk large enough to put them in if they misbehave.
