Mounting a Canoe w/o rack

Any tips on how one can go about mounting a canoe on a clubman without a roof rack? The canoe I have inherited isn’t that large or heavy, so it’s under the specs the car can tow. Just want to make sure I can mount it securely.

I used to have 4 flexible pads that worked great, about $10 at Cabelas including straps.

Hi, you can get inflatable roof racks that go over the roof and strap through the car - possibly from Amazon. They can work but it will depend on the weight of the canoe. Also you would have to be careful on the placement of the inflatable bars as the canoes can bounce and possibly touch the roof of the car. Just out of interest what size of canoe is it?
