Had my 2018 Clubman S in the shop for a few days and had a 2020 Clubman S for a loaner. Is it just me or is the fake engine sound much more noticeable on the new models? And i feel like the bass of the Harmon Kardon system seems deeper and louder. I know when the car fires up each time it revs a lil higher and sounds a lil sportier outside than my 18.

I disabled the piped in ASD sound on my 2017 S All4 using the Carly coding tool. I've kept it in the factory default "on" mode in my new 2020.

This is interesting. The engine dynamics, shifting algorithms, and overall "feel" of our 2020 seem much improved over the excellent dynamics of the 2017.

And, for some strange reason I haven't figured out yet, the cabin is, overall, quieter on the 2020 with the Active Sound (ASD) in the factory default "on" mode.

I removed my Dinan Sport from the 2017 when we turned the car in and I plugged it into our 2020. Great result once again.

But yes, even the sound system seems improved, though I think its the same as prior years.

Overall, the cars are improving, IMHO.

They have changed the ASD and HK amp many times on the F series cars. That is probably why it sounds different. And the data I see is only through early 2019.
Example:

Well even though its fake I do like the added sound. Does anyone know if its possible to update the ASD with Bimmercode to the newer sound? And if so what has to be changed?
