Groaning Folding Mirror
I know Mini had a TSB on this issue and last time at the Mini Stealer they supposedly lubricated them. Over time, they have started their complaining when folding/unfolding. Anyone tried to lubricate their mirrors themselves? If so, any suggested methods and lubricant?

I've been living with the groan -- it's now sort of evolved into a whale song sound. So I tell myself that my passenger mirror is singing to me because it's so happy that I programmed it to auto fold upon locking
I'm afraid that if the dealer disassembles things to get at the noise, I'll end up with a rattle or trim damage.
No idea where to spray the WD40, but if you look at the knuckle that rotates where the base and the mirror connects, there might be a place to try a squirt.

Well, since you asked... No name for the whale, but our Clubman is named after Marmaduke 'Chuffy' Chuffnell, 5th Baron of Chuffnell Hall, an old school friend of Bertie Wooster, known to friends and intimates as "Chuffy." From the Wodehouse stories, specifically, "Thank You, Jeeves."
