I was going to put a spare in for the same reason. I got to thinking, even if I make it to a shop, my runflat will finished. The spare tire isn’t going to take you far. The shop won’t likely have a matching run flat replacement so its still a problem. You may want to call AAA and see how common it is to keep a spare on hand. Maybe ditch AAA next year for mini roadside assistance, they have to keep some spare with them. The slime is easy to put in, messy to clean. (not your problem). Pump is good to have anyways...

if you want a spare you can trim the trunk to make it fit. Detroit Tuning has great solutions. If you have better chance you’ll never need it. If your lady is happy, that’s the easiest fix, you’ll win or lose together either way.

 

I hadn’t thought about Mini Roadside Assistance. Our Mini in service date doesn’t expire till Aug. ‘21. So, for now we’d be covered. At least I’m hoping that. I did check out detroittuned and another site that sells a spare kit, but at a cost of a little over $500! The spare is only rated for 50 miles/50 mph and it’s recommended that it only be used on the rear. Not much back up really for $500. Plus I’d still need another tire.
I gotta do some thinking on this.

 

If you get a flat up front you’re supposed to move a good rear to the front and put the spare in the back.
