Where is the battery?

My 10 year old pointed out today that the F54 owners manual basically says you never need to replace the battery, so it doesn't even say where it is. It's not obvious ... if it's on the side of the trunk, it's unclear how to get to it. Is it under the back seat?

Mystery solved ... I will sheepishly admit that it didn't even occur to me that it might be right where it looks like it is :-) I figured that since there is a standard remote jump terminal, it must be remote!

Your 10 year old might be ahead of the curve, but in owners manual comprehension I think he missed the gist.

The battery is maintenance-free.
The added amount of acid is sufficient for the
service life of the battery.

If you have the car long enough you will be replacing the battery.

It's an AGM battery, which will last longer than most standard car batteries, but it will need replacing from time to time. It is a little trickier to get to as MINI really holes it in there and you are technically supposed to register the battery to the car via software so the MINI's systems can accurately monitor the charge level.

Yep has the new IBS system. They tucked the battery away with extra padding on the F54+ models.
