Sweet! I am interested in actual legal track time (circuit type) I am in Heidelberg. We have HockenHiem Here, BUT ID LOVE TO RUN THE RING. I am free most every weekend so anytime any of us can get togeather Im down. Also if anyone wants help working on their MINI I have two useful hands.
IS there anyone running a circuit this weekend?

The 'Ring is closed to "tourists" for a 24-hour race this weekend (otherwise I'd be there now!): http://www.nuerburgring.de/events.10.0.html
My schedule's about to get crazy as I prep for my deployment in July but I'll try to make it up there a few more times between now and then. I have a Jahr Karte and still have 30 or so laps to go before I break even!
Hockenheimring has open track days a few times/year but I've not had a chance to hit that yet. I may go w/a friend at teh end of June (if I'm in town) for the Porsche open house event there.

Thats a bummer you have to leave Germany for that Deployment. Next time you go, send me an invite, Im pretty good about being spontaneous, I definetly would like to experience the Ring with people that have been there before. You know, people who know the ins and outs, rules and what not.

Hi Matty125! They open at 4:00PM and close at 09:00PM. The entrance fee is 3 Euros per person at the gate, just to see people driving around and take pictures. Then if you want to drive your car on the track is 12Euros per car and you can take as many people on your car for 15 minutes, around 8 laps. Henry

I looked on Hockenheim's website and saw the info on the "tourist" driving but it's not on their calendar for March 29th... Am I missing something?
Willing to throw the track tires on and come up regardless just for the drive! See you guys there!
My son has an exhibition baseball game but I think he'll understand if I have an opportunity to drive an F1 track!

I'll do you one better! I'm posting pics to my gallery as I ype this (should be up in a second). Here's a link to the tires on the Tire Rack (where they were purchased (and where I buy almost all my wheels, tires, brakes, etc.): http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....orce+T%2FA+KDW
215/50ZR16s are $125 each plus shipping/handling... I'll sell them to you for $100 each. As you can see in the pics they're brand new--as delivered (never been mounted).
Here's a link to the rim at Tire Rack (again, where these were purchased). I have Dunlop Z1s mounted on them right now but am going to transfer those over to some SSRs as soon as they come in. I've had them on the car for 3 or 4 weeks...
The Kazeras were $149 each plus shipping, I'll sell them to you for $75 each (1/2 price) and throw in the tuner lugs (I paid 65 Euro for them).
I highly recommend you get the 14mm - to- 12mm studs from Texas Speed Works (I have them on my car). Your car (like my late-build 2006) has very odd thread pitch 14mm bolts that won't clear many after market rims. I couldn't use any of my racing rims w/the stock bolts and wanted to convert to studs/lugs anyway so I went w/their awesome setup. Here's the link: http://www.txwerks.com/servlet/Detail?no=42 They're $90 and worth every penny...very high quality parts.
You can get just the studs or studs and lugs but the Kazera rims need what's called a "tuner" lug due to the tight clearance on the holes in the rim.
Let me know... I have a guy my village here w/a Hunter 9000 road force balancing machine who can mount them up for you too.
