Nurburgring this weekend...
What? You have a car! Take the long way round, and drive on over!
BTW Poppa Bear... Sorry I missed you at teh gas station. They dropped my frikadelle at teh imbiss and had to cook another one up!
I figured I was late so I just sat in the car listening to some podcasts while I scarfed teh sammitch then hit the road.
Ya know I swear I saw a red/white MCS w/NL plates at a rest stop ~ 30 minutes down the road heading towards K-Town but was already past the exit when I saw the car and didn't turm around...that wasn't you was it?

91 Eunos,
Thank you for the lessons and patience with us on the Nurburgring.
I did not know that I can push my Mini hard on the wet track.
Neither was I expecting to do 8 laps in the Nurburgring.
Henry

91, I second that.
And did you guys hear about the BMW yard sale at the Ring Saturday afternoon? New driver in a Ring Taxi, with 4 people in the car, managed to total the car. Nothing serious for injuries, according to Marcus, my parts guy.

No, no, no -- the BMW one. Though I much prefer the 91Eunos one.
Better call quick about that engine, Rob!
Hey, anyone want to help me with an article for the Stars & Stripes, on going to the Ring?

Looks like you guys had fun! I was in Brugge and Amsterdam that weekend and then bought back a lovely gift called the flu! Ugh... FYI, I drove right by you guys on Sunday.

Daflake,
Henry and I wired my car for the KT box, for the all-up for the windows and the sunroof.
Worked like the dickens to get it right, and just couldn't seem to get it right. Checked the volts on all of the wires, read and re-read the (lousy) instruction, and scratched our heads. Finally, we ripped into Henry's dash and swapped the black boxes -- sure enough, mine is bad.
So, I grabbed yours, and tried it. Bad, too. Both failed to work in my car and in Henry's, but his black box worked fine in both cars, telling us that the wiring is right and the boxes are wrong.
I'll send them both back. Next time I see you, I'll hand you a checked-out one that will work.
Also, Henry has a draft write up with photos, which should make this installation idiot proof. So, there may be hope for you yet!
When we were done with that, and while the dash was apart, I decided to finish wiring my shifter ****. So, why did this take me a year?
Here's my shifter **** as it's looked, well, since I got the call and did the install (it might have been the first mod I did).

Here's how it looks now, with the wires hooked up.

Muuuuuch better. The look on my son's face when I showed him was priceless!
Henry, I cracked open that red pack I had and used those. Yes, the clips were a beeeeyatch to connect, but they did in the end. Rear fog light still needs the missile-launch switch installed (it'll go behind the shifter ****, in the one vacant slot barely seen in the top photo), but I'll do that one night when things are quiet (ha!).
As always, Henry, thanks for the help. Let me know how the iPod adapter works out. Daflake, can you pass along to Henry the details of the system you've got working in your Mini? It's the nicest iPod integration I've seen yet.

I'll show it to him when he comes down if he likes. I still have to run the box (been lazy) but it does work well. Sorry to hear about the bad box. That was a pain in the backside to fit for sure but if you do get one or both back, I'll be more than happy to give it a try again. Thanks for keeping me posted.
FYI, Henry... I do have an Icelink that I am not using if you need one or you can go for the Intravee solution. (Bimmernav) Very nice solution....

Abuzavi,
The iPod system needs a connector. According to the instruction should be in your car. Do not worry, I will go by the BMW and order a new connector. Also daflake I like the iPod system that you got in your Mini the “Intravee solution”, I want to check yours out before I get one. Henry

Abuzabi!!
I got the iPod adapter connected today. The installation was easy and function like my Kenwood Keg, perfect. Now I got to buy my own iPod. Thank you
Henry
Poppa Bear!!
The password, didn’t work out. Can you help me out?

Poppa Bear,
I got in but I do not have the "add Item" so I can't upload the video.
91Eunos,
Great! I got a video of you explaining how to drive the Nurburgring. I’m working with Poppa Bear to upload it. It is not the great quality but you can see the whole track. Henry
