Airbag Help in R53

My passenger airbag light in the roof is on and that means that the passenger airbag is off. My manual says I can switch off & on in the passenger side of the car. But that switch is not located in my car. Can anyone tell me if this switch is in my car ( 6/2005). Is it possible to buy a tester which can reset the airbag light in my Mini

Activation / Deactivation of the Passenger side airbag is through a sensor in the seat. I do not believe there has ever been manual switch to control this.

Myabe there is a fault in the sensor and subsequently the Airbag light is on for this reason (talling you there is a problem). However the airbag light can also be falsely tripped by any number of minor events where the battery terminals we're not removed first prior to working on the car. These events include the installation of an aftermarket radio, removal of the front seats and so forth.

To the best of my knowledge these is currently no aftermarket tools and scanner available that can reset the Airbag light. As far as I know it requires a trip into the dealer to have it reset.

Best Regards-
Randy

I had a problem with the airbag light too. I was cleaning under the passenger seat and accidently disconnected one of the wires, which turned out to be the airbag sensor. When I plugged it back in the light still was on. I went to Patrick Mini and they told me that they just needed to rest the computer and my Mini was safe again!
