PIAA driving light brackets

Got the PIAA driving light brackets to mount HELLA 220's and with the brackets came some weird connectors. Got 3 threaded screws with no head, and 6, what look like nails with a big end. Got 3 bolts for the screws and some black caps that screw into the threads. Am I completely missing something here? Seems like all I needed was the three nuts and screws to attach each bracket?

I just installed PIAA w/ brackets - All you need is 6 screws and 6 nuts - recommend self locking. See the sticky on driving light installation - pics are worth a 1000 words.

nails w/ big ends? rivets?

Yeah, that's what I was saying when I got the package with the PIAA brackets. Someone at Outmotoring must have had a sleep deprived night. Never had a problem with their stuff before but this time??? Not a big deal and got them on yesterday without much hassle. Can't figure out what they were thinking and can't imagine what those things they sent me were for.:impatient

pop rivets and 'supports'

the nail like things are mark one mod zero pop rivets .... if you don't have a pop rivet gun they are kinda useless. I prefer to use stainless bolts and nylon locking nuts....

the long headless screw things and the black covers are intended to form a support to the back of the light . you'd drill a hole and mount the threaded piece so the covered tip would press against the back of the light and lessen vibration .....

that's the theory - I don't know that I've ever seen it put on.... this is what's in the MINI factory kit anyway....
