Electrical Help with Unichip Installation
Help with Unichip Installation
I have recently bought an Unichip from a NAMer, received my package 10 mins ago. Just found out that the installation instructions are not there. Can anyone tell me how to install the Unichip? Any pictures would be greatly appreciated!
PS: I searched NAM already but have failed miserably to find anything on UNICHIP install instructions.

very easy; lift the ECU cover, unlatch & remove the stock connectors/cables. Insert & secure the cables from the Unichip, connect the stock cables to the Unichip harness. Install the unichip somewhere where it's dry, but make sure you clear the wiper mechanism... That's about it...

wouldn't it get wet in where your putting your UNICHIP in the picture?
And how does the switches work? If both are left at "0", that means its running the stock map right?
Sorry about so many questions, but I don't have an instruction manual... so.. :(

this is the most common (and I think only available) spot because of how short the cable is. I haven't had any issues with it getting wet but with fall/winter restarting I will check after driving in heavy rain. I still plan on adding a seal to the cable going into the ECU box and add some tape...
Not sure where you got your Unichip but it probably comes with 2 maps. Most places program a 91 octane map and something higher. One of those 2 switches controls the map, usually 0 is the lower octane map. Often that switch has a tag attached. The other one was planned for extra stuff like an IC sprayer and such but that feature was never officially released. Again, it depends on how your Unichip was programmed....
hope that helps...
