Electrical Headlight Connectors?
Headlight Connectors?
Hi,
The street rod I am building has mini cooper headlights but did not come with the plug-in connectors. Would anyone be able to provide me with a part number? I am trying to get this part over the internet as there are no local mini dealers in my area.
Thanks

You can look up MINI part numbers on REAL OEM

If you have xenons, they were different between the '02-04 and '05-06 builds
'02-'04 xenons look like this

'05-'06 xenons look like this

just plug the rough build year for the headlights you have into the realoem link above and then you can seach for the headlight assembly and the connectors.

PM me if you can't find it on RealOEM. I have another source for part numbers. Maybe I can help find them. Are you using the Xenon or halogen lights? I've seen several street rods with MINI headlights and they look good. Unfortunately, every one I've seen used the halogen lights instead of the xenons.

The primary reason why rodders use the halogen MINI headlights besides aesthetics) rather than the HID versions is simplicity and weight. While outwardly the lamp housings are mostly similar, internally they carry the baggage of the washer assemblies and ballasts, plus the extra mechanisms for the autolevelling with the added bulk and wiring. The vast majority of rodders go for simple, clean installations. The halogen lights can be wired in just as easily as a sealedbeam lamp, where the HID versions will need either some of the attending subsystems from the MINI to work successfully, or some modifications to work stand-alone.
There are also some who would install xenons but prefer instead the cleaner, more 'retro' look of the standard halogens. The halogen trim is uniform, without the pop-up washer that would look out of place on a 30s-50s era body.
