warranty question

I think that i may have a BC1 problem (3rd brake light is dead) on my 2002. Do you think that my dealer will give me a hard time warranty wise for having an amplifier hooked up to the battery or having an aftermarket headunit? Those are my only 2 electrical modifications that aren't OEM.

I understand that ANY modification LEGALLY voids the warranty, so i know i couldn't really argue it with them. I'm just wondering if they would willingly work under warranty since it probably wasn't the amp that caused problems.

Thanks

Call your SA and ask him. Tell him what you've done and see what he says. I suspect it would depend on how your SA is feeling that day. It's not a big deal to fix it. Pop the old on out, new one in.

Every Dealer is different, calling ahead is a good idea, but remember there is also no need to introduce yourself until you have an answer. And it isn't always the SA but usually the dealer's relationship with MINIUSA that determines if something questionable can be covered underwarranty.

Yah, i know the installation wouldn't be too difficult, it's just the price of the part that im worried about.
