Is the MINI Electrical system touchy like BMW?
Owning a BMW, I can say that the electrical system is real touchy. You can't do many electrical modifications because BMW just doesn't like them. The system isn't set up for it. Whereas my daily driver (soon to be sold) Pontiac Grand Prix was relatively easy to retrofit any electrical modification
Is the MINI the same way as a typical BMW or more along the lines of a Pontiac? I sure hope it's the latter!
THANKS

Much of the MINIs electrics goes through a central computer, the "BC1" - if you're not very clear what you're doing, you could kill the BC1 or mess up other parts of the car.
There's also communications lines (iBus, etc) which can seriously mess up the cars functions if you attach the wrong stuff to them.
I've heard of badly installed car alarms doing bad things to cars - even early versions of the Dension ICElink (iPod interface) did things like stop the MINIs lights or locks working!
