Anybody using a battery cut-off switch?

Over the past few months, I've disconnected my battery's negative terminal a few times before doing electrical work, and I will be doing it some more in the next few weeks. Is it useful to have a product like the following, and are there any downsides or cautions to be aware of: Battery Cut-Off Switch

I have one. Never been a problem. You can probably find one cheaper on Ebay however.

Ken, I bought one off eBay that looks like the picture above (it seems to be a very generic design). How did you position it for installation? It seems like I would need to cut a notch in the battery cover, have the device stick out of the battery box, and clamp the cable on the outside. I have an MCC (non-S) with the battery in the engine compartment. If you can post a picture, I would appreciate it very much.

Hi, Sure I'll post a pic, but I have an S, with the battery in the rear. My wife's is a MCC tho. I'll take a look. Not that I can figure it out any better than you can, but I'm interested to know!

Ken

PS: Just noticed I made it to 3rd gear. YEAH!
