great air horn with compressor instalation!!

just to give all and anyone some good tips on the placement of air horns, mine are mounted in the passengert side cowel compartment. look at my gallery pics to see what i mean. youll see my oil catch can in the pic and the compressor with air horns all nicely mounted close together. and all the sound escapes through the vent witch makes them heard very well heard out of the car. and using a relay is highly recomended. air horn sound is instant with this setup. the shorter the hose the quicker the sound, and the relay ensures full voltage.

I went a different route

First, I'd like to know who selected the stock horns for the car. I have an 03 MCs and they just don't cut it - they sound weak! Additionally, on the road its as if people don't even hear them! There is nothing like a set of air horns to command respect on the road.

I installed the compressor where the left (facing the car) horn was, using the original horn bracket. Taping into electrical was easy since I used the old horn wires (this is the upside to the install). From the compressor, I ran the horn tubing straight down and the horns are at the bottom - one facing left and one facing right. Its tight and I did not use anything to hold them in place just reinstalled the plastic bottom bumper pieces and they are not going anyplace. Not moving around or rattling.

The down side to this install is that there is no room to work but the skin will grow back .

inmimini, how did you mount the horns? Did you fab some brackets to mount them on that ground bolt? I like your setup and I'm glad to hear it works well.
