Help Hard Wiring Rear Fog Lights

Okay, the UK dealers attempt to flash the software making my rear fog lights work did not work and they are not sure why.

The last resort I have is to hard wire a spearate auxiliary switch to the rear fogs. I am not an electrician, I don't know anything about electricity and would appreciate someone's easy, clear explanation how I need to wire up a separate switch that will allow me to turn on the rear fog lights.

I only need them to work for the SVA test and the MOT Exam. Once I have passed those tests and have received my registration I am going to pull the switch out till the next time I need to take the test.

Thanks for anyone's help in advance, this has already cost me over two hundred and fifty dollars not to mention two months worth of wasted time and effort.
