Any chance you remember the thickness of the plastic sheet you used for the diffusers?

 

also could you elaborate on the process of changing the needle color, did you remove the orange backing and use red LED? Or did you change the color of the backing?

I did all three. Carefully scraped off the orange paint, painted the backs of the needles red, & changed the needle LEDs to red. Scraping & painting changes the needle color in the daytime (without lights) & swapping the LEDs for red ones changes the color at night (lights on).
