How can one properly identify and obtain the DME variant existing in a 2011 MCS? Daughter was home from college this weekend. Experienced engine fault/reduced power message while here. Best I could offer was an OBDII reader that produced 2C57. Cleared the code didn't return on next several key on/off engine cycles.

Depending on DME variant in the vehicle, the OBDII code 2c57 has five different possible service procedures. She has a Schwaben (Foxwell NT510) in her dorm. Wondering if she could pull the DME variant from it? And or now if the condition occurs again while she's at school she can use the Foxwell scanner to get the BMW specific codes.
