Installing LED driving lights

After getiing the $1400.00 labor estimate from Mini to install the driving lights, I will be tackling the job myself. The instructions look straightforward and I have a full complement of tools. Anyone have any pointers before I dive in?

Wow - $1400

Does the install require coding?

Make a project out of it, give us a good description and pictures .. please.
Been thinking of something like this, but haven't had the time yet.

And yes Minnie.the.Moocher .. the $1,400.00 is the price range I've been quoted by my local Mini. And they mentioned nothing of coding.

No coding involved. The instructions show 1.5 hours to install. Seems kinda optimistic. I am setting aside an entire Saturday. I’ll set up some cameras for video.

I have the lights mounted and made a video of the install. Pretty straight forward. I'll be doing the wiring harness install later this week and will have a video of that install. Here's a link to the Light mounting on my 2019 Countryman S.

Are you going to wire them like stock rally lights that only come on when the high beams are on?

Yes. That is what the wiring harness is for and will only allow you to use them with high-beams.

I had the OEM rally lights but ended up upgrading them with LED rally lights that also include halo rings for DRL’s. Upgraded because the OEM rally lights didn’t have much light output, esp since they only work with the high beams. The LED lights required additional wiring but they are far more superior to the originals as far as functionality.

excuse the dirty Mini

Just spent my entire weekend trying to wire up my lights. I mounted the lights last weekend. After 20 hours of work, videoing the process, and troubleshooting i still have no lights. I have checked continuity to all my solder joints to their respective pins, double checked that i am indeed spliced to the correct wire and verified with the Mini wiring schematics. I have come to the conclusion that something is incorrect in the instructions for the F60. I have a 2019 F60 with LED lightis & LED fogs. I am using the latest instructions provided by MiniMania https://www.minimania.com/pdfile/OE_Driving_Lights.pdf and making sure i follow the additional instructions for the F60 as well as special instructions for cars with SA 5A2 or SA 5A4 lights.
I can only assume something changed in the 2019s that is not represented in the instructions i am using. So frustrating having to put everything back together since i need the car tomorrow. Anyone know of an addendum or update to the install instructions dated 07/2017?
